This Shine 6 string bass was used in Vampyrouss by Rob from 2006-2010 to achieve the low notes needed as well as flexibility to play octave basslines in both low and higher registers. Since then it has been replaced with other low tuned instruments such as my Fender 5-string bass, the Tanglewood 4 string in drop-C and Rob's unique 6 string guitar stye bass.

The Shine is an uncomfortable and unwieldy beast as could be expected and has mostly been kept in storage since then although I will occasionally pull it out for special occasions! I have it tuned to a drop A tuning (AEADGC) and can't remember how Rob previously had it, Vampyrouss songs never go lower than B so he probably had it in standard (B) tuning or similar.

I've never really found out much about the company but apparently Shine is a Korean brand of electric guitars and bass guitars produced by Saein Musical Instrument Co. Ltd and for whatever reason this particular bass doesn't have a model name like the "Shine Sh1t" or anything, it's just Shine 6 String Bass Guitar (Sunburst). Even though they made other 6 strings and many other basses and guitars and they do seem to have individual model names. Whatever!
