Track Listing:

Sunday is gloomy my hours are slumberless

Dearest the shadows I live with are numberless

My frail white flower will I never awaken you?

Not where the black coach of sorrow has taken you

Angels have no thought of ever returning you

Should they be angry if I thought of joining you my love?

Side by side

I waited 'till dreams like my heart were broken

The flowers all dead and the words unspoken

The grief that I knew was beyond consoling

The beat of my heart was a church bell tolling

My eyes could not see one I wanted to love me

The Earth and the flowers are forever beyond me

The bell tolled for me but the wind whispered "never!"

It's you that I love and I bless you forever with

Gloomy Sunday tears

For you

Gloomy is Sunday with shadows I spend it all

My heart and I have decided to end it all

Soon there'll be candles and prayers that are sad I know

Let them not weep, let them know that I wish to go

Death is no dream, for in death I'm caressing you

In my heart and soul I'll always be missing you my love

My dying bride

Gloomy Sunday Tears Trivia:

  • "Gloomy Sunday Tears" is the only Vampyrouss song (not including cover songs) with lyrics not written by Kazraine. The lyrics for the song were adapted by him from translations of the Rezső Seress song "Gloomy Sunday".

  • The music however is an entirely original piece written by Azrael.

  • Although the song was released in advance of the rest of the 2007 "Compendium Vampyrica" demo it was not the first song to be debuted from it with "Beyond The Beast", "The Ripper's Ruby Kiss" and "The Righteous Hand" all being performed at the first ever Vampyrouss live gig in December the previous year.

  • "Gloomy Sunday Tears" was re-recorded (along with other songs from the time) for the 2nd Vampyrouss album "Compendium Vampyrica" in 2017, a release which shared a name with the aforementioned 2007 demo.
